From drinking tea to eating tea.
Tea is not only for drinking, it can also be eaten.
Japanese green tea leaves are soft, so they are especially suitable for use as food. Let's eat tea, everyone!

Powdered Green Tea (Matcha) : The bright green powdered tea used in the tea ceremony.   There is an incredible variety of different types of tea,
but all of them are produced from the leaves of the same
Theaceae tea tree (Camillia Sinensis). Green, black, oolong,
and other teas are differentiated by how they are made.
Tea originates in the south Asian subtropics.
The scope of tea cultivation in the world is fairly extensive,
from around the 45th degree northern latitude in central Asia
to the 30th degree southern latitude in Africa, reaching all
the way to South Africa.

The majority of tea made in Japan is green tea,
and there are two drinking methods: pouring hot
water on tea leaves and drinking the tea extract,
and powdering the tea leaves and drinking them in
that form. In Japan, since time immemorial, tea
called matcha has been drunk at tea ceremonies.
Matcha is made and consumed in an unusual manner.
The tea leaves are finely powdered, dissolved in water,
and the resulting liquid is drunk. The original matcha
was brought over from China in the Kamakura period
(1185-1333), but since then it has undergone a unique
development in Japan. All over the world, tea is normally
consumed by pouring hot water over tea leaves and
drinking the extract, but Japanese matcha is a special
thing.

In Japan, since the latter half of the 20th century green tea
has been recognized not just as a drink, but also as a healthy
and delicious food ingredient, and has become popular as
a flavoring in a wide variety of foodstuffs. The reason Japanese
people began using green tea as a food ingredient may be that
the traditional way of consuming matcha tea leaves in their
original form is similar to eating them.
In Japan, green tea flavoring is used mainly with sweet foods
such as cakes and donuts, sweet bread, and ice cream, and
the combination of the astringent tea flavor with sweetness is
a delicious one.
In recent years there has been a diversification of tea as a food
ingredient. For example, there has been a movement towards
more easy to use consumer-friendly products like our company's
tea syrups. Our company specializes in manufacturing tea for food
products like cakes and donuts, bread, and ice cream.
(And of course we sell drinking tea as well).

Japanese green tea is vividly green, wonderfully delicious,
and a healthy drink or food! Through our company's products
we hope to show to the people of the world that Japanese green tea
is delicious whether it is eaten or drunk.
